HARASSMENT AND MOBBING ARE NOT A BAGATELLE
Nine actresses and workers talked about mobbing and harassment by Henryk Jack Schoen, director of Bagatela Theatre. When they reported it to the Mayor of Krakow, Jacek Majchrowski, the latter disclosed their personal details to the director. The workers approached the president with information about the violence, and he referred the matter to the person who committed it. Privately, to a good colleague.
The creators of the play “The Jew from “The Wedding”, prepared at the Bagatela Theatre, among others, Witold Mrozek, issued a statement on this matter, in which they sympathize with women and express their disappointment with Majchrowski’s actions. In response, Schoen cancelled today’s rehearsal and the costume designer was asked to return the advance payment for the costumes.
The director has impunity. Not only he was not suspended from his duties – he is still working in the theatre. The president’s spokeswoman says that it is legally impossible to suspend Schoen because until the case is clarified, he can perform his duties. The theatre director is not subordinate to the president – so until he suspends himself or the charges are proven, he runs the institution. It is in fact untouchable.
Cases of violence against women sometimes last for years – should the director continue working with the people who reported his violence during that time? Or maybe, strangely enough, they will be released quite quickly or they will resign themselves – for purely factual reasons, of course, for reasons that are not at all relevant to the case? What about actresses and theatre employees – will they go to work every day until “case explained”, thinking that today the director may bully them or harass them?
I’ve been talking to actresses about their working conditions for some time now – and I’m terrified. What these nine women have done is an act of great courage. And the most necessary action possible. May we now be flooded with a wave of stories about bullying and harassment in the theatre and film environment. Nine supersheroes opened the way to this. They cannot remain alone.

MOLESTOWANIE I MOBBING TO NIE BAGATELA
Dziewięć aktorek i pracownic opowiedziało o mobbingu i molestowaniu ze strony Henryka Jacka Schoena, dyrektora Teatr Bagatela. Gdy zgłosiły to prezydentowi Krakowa, Jacek Majchrowski, ten ujawnił ich personalia dyrektorowi. Pracownice zwróciły się do prezydenta z informacją o przemocy – a on przekazał tę sprawę do rozwiązania temu, który miał tę przemoc stosować. Prywatnie – dobremu koledze.
Realizatorzy spektaklu przygotowywanego w Teatrze Bagatela ,,Żyd z ,,Wesela”, m.in. Witold Mrozek, wystosowali wczoraj w tej sprawie oświadczenie, w którym solidaryzują się z kobietami i wyrażają rozczarowanie działaniem Majchrowskiego. W odpowiedzi Schoen odwołał dzisiejszą próbę spektaklu, a kostiumograf został wezwany do zwrotu zaliczki na kostiumy.
Dyrektor jest bezkarny. Nie został zawieszony w obowiązkach – cały czas działa w teatrze. Rzeczniczka prezydenta mówi, że prawnie zawieszenie Schoena jest niemożliwe, bo do czasu wyjaśnienia sprawy może pełnić swoje obowiązki. Dyrektor teatru nie jest podległy służbowo prezydentowi – więc dopóki sam się nie zawiesi lub zarzuty nie zostaną udowodnione, kieruje instytucją. Jest właściwie nie do ruszenia.
Sprawy dotyczące przemocy wobec kobiet trwają czasem latami – czy przez ten czas dyrektor ma dalej pracować z osobami, które opowiedziały o jego przemocy? A może dziwnym trafem dość szybko zostaną zwolnione albo same zrezygnują – oczywiście, z powodów czysto merytorycznych, w ogóle niezwiązanych ze sprawą? Co z aktorkami i pracownikami teatru – czy do ,,wyjaśnienia sprawy” będą codziennie chodzić do pracy z myślą, że dzisiaj dyrektor może je mobbować albo molestować?
Od jakiegoś czasu rozmawiam z aktorkami o ich warunkach pracy – i jestem przerażona. To, co zrobiło tych 9 kobiet, to akt wielkiej odwagi. I działanie najpotrzebniejsze z możliwych. Oby teraz zalała nas fala opowieści o mobbingu i molestowaniu w środowisku teatralnym i filmowym. 9 superbohaterek otworzyło ku temu drogę. Nie mogą pozostać same.
Pokażmy im nasze wsparcie – także po to, by zachęcić kolejne osoby do dzielenia się swoimi historiami. Piszcie u siebie: MOLESTOWANIE TO NIE BAGATELA/MOBBING TO NIE BAGATELA, róbcie zdjęcia z tym hasłem – pokażmy, że nie zgadzamy się na przemoc w miejscu pracy i wspieramy odważne pracownice, które o niej opowiedziały!
