As every year, there will be a lot of action for the International Women’s Day in Berlin. Here is what we know, where we take part:
AKTION: #Ichstreike8M | 11.00-13.00
Where: Robert-Koch-Platz, 10115 Berlin, Deutschland
“Womxn trans* inter* and non-binary and queer people toil everywhere for too little pay or even none at all!
Our work is the invisible foundation, upon which the modern economic system is built. This is only possible because we work under the most precarious conditions: Sundays and holidays; for poor wages or none at all; illegalized; in the household; taking care of children, the infirm, and the sick – and all frequently accompanied by sexualized and racist violence.
As the second largest employer in Berlin and practitioner of both outsourcing as well as profit seeking, the Charité is the epitome of the patriarchal economic system which forces us to work and live in precarious situations.
Join us on the 8th of March, where we will put our fundamental contribution on display by refusing to work for a system that denies us! Let’s go on strike against patriarchy!”
We are happy that our action #IchStreike is being continued also this year! Strike on Sunday is not really possible, therefore we all go for a symbolic action!

“Selbst dort, wo Frauen in gehobenen Positionen des Kunstbetriebs agieren, bleibt es in der Regel bei den gewohnten patriarchalischen Strukturen und einem Festhalten am tradierten Kanon. Kunst von Frauen zu zeigen und zu fördern, sollte jede*r Akteur*in im mit Steuergeldern finanzierten Kunstbetrieb eine demokratische Verantwortung sein und als Chance gesehen werden, endlich die unzeitgemäße Dominanz von männlichen Künstlern aufzulösen.” More in event description.
We will hold a speech and a choir-performance at the demo and hear out for the GlobalScream at 16.00.

“Feminismus heißt Widerstand!
Weltweit erstarken die neuen und alten Rechten. Mit der AFD, habe sie auch Deutschland einen parlamentarischen Arm gefunden. Dass sich ein sogenannter bürgerlicher Kandidat mit den Stimmen der AfD zum Thüringer Ministerpräsidenten wählen ließ, zeigt wie die faschistische Gefahr auch in Deutschland steigt.
Feminismus heißt Solidarität!
In den letzten Jahren hat sich weltweit eine neue feministische Bewegung entwickelt, die sich mit dem Streik als politische Praxis den gewaltvollen Strukturen des Systems verweigert. In Argentinien, Indien, Nigeria, Spanien und auch in Deutschland streiken FLINT* (Frauen, Lesben, Intersex, Non-binäre und Transpersonen) für eine Umverteilung der (Sorge-)Arbeit, für ein Ende der strukturellen Gewalt und Femizide.
Feminismus heißt ein gutes Leben für alle!
Wir kämpfen für eine Gesellschaft frei von Diskriminierung und Gewalt, in der politisch engagierte Menschen sich nicht fürchten müssen. Wir wollen in einer Welt ohne Ausbeutung von Menschen und Natur leben und kämpfen gegen die Zerstörung der natürlichen Lebensgrundlagen und die weltweite Ausbeutung von Ressourcen.
Feminismus heißt gleiche Rechte für alle!
Im Kapitalismus sind Arbeit und Reichtum ungleich verteilt. Erwerbslosigkeit, Arbeitsausbeutung, Zwangsarbeit, Minilöhne und Altersarmut sind nur einige Symptome dieses Gesellschaftssystems, in dem besonders Frauen* benachteiligt sind. ”

DEMO: “It’s not a party – It’s a fight” | 15.00-18.00
Where: starts at S- U-Bahn Warschauer Brücke
“All around the world the fight against fascism is getting louder and stronger and women* are taking the lead of this revolution. The patriarchal system and the sexist structure try with force to marginalize, criminalize and oppress us. But they can’t make it. You can read this in the face of any woman* who is struggling anywhere in the world, on the street, on the mountain, in a boat on the see, at the border, in prison, in the refugee camp, in any occupied land. Our struggle has been there all along and is connecting us around the whole world. We stand hand in hand, shoulder to shoulder in solidarity, together. Because the fight of each sister* is the fight of all sisters*.”

Where: At various places, at demos, at home. In Berlin, other cities in German and other countries.
Es every year, on the International Women’s Day (8.3.2020) there will be thousands of people on the streets worldwide, all protesting for the same, against the same, regardless of nationalities, location, gender, and ideological differences. Womxn of the World will fight for their rights. To symbolically connect us all, on a local and global scale, we will scream for 1 minute. It is only a minute for a woman, but a global scream for womxnkind! We will scream. We will be loud! More in event description.
